It is perfectly fine for you to enroll as a surgeon, i.e., having performed only the surgical aspects of treatment of the cases you plan to submit. We ask participants who have performed only the surgical or restorative part of a treatment to sign a form for the respective case in which they declare that they have performed only a part of the treatment and outline which part. The doctor they collaborated with on the treatment also needs to sign a form in which she/he declares that he she/he has performed part of the treatment and indicate which part this was.
Your cases will be reviewed and scored by a team of 2 ITI Board of Studies members. The ITI Board of Studies is made up of reputed implant dentistry professionals from all over the world who are ITI Fellows.

It sometimes happens that a patient who wears a partial removable dental prosthesis, loses one of the teeth that hold the prosthesis. In such clinical situations an implant can be placed and used for retention of the removable dental prosthesis together with the remaining teeth. This approach allows for the existing prosthesis to be adapted to incorporate the retention element for the implant rather than having to produce a new prosthesis.
You will need to submit your first case for comment within 4 weeks of the start of the program. Therefore, you need to have a first case ready (i.e., photographically documented) then. Ideally, you should already have a first case ready by the starting date of the ITI Diploma.
The cases need to be submitted to a dedicated SharePoint folder created by the ITI in the form of photographic and radiographic documentation along with the completed ITI Diploma case submission template that is provided by the ITI. The clinical photographs must be provided in high resolution and as .jpgs.

Please refer to this flowchart for an in-depth overview of the process.
Your cases will be reviewed within 6 weeks of submission.
If the Board of Studies fails one of your cases, you are allowed to resubmit it. You have 4 weeks to work on the case and re-submit it for a second and final review. Alternatively, you can also submit a new case of the same type.
Only 1 failed case can be resubmitted, and only once. The case must be re-submitted within 4 weeks. If more than 1 of your cases is a fail or if one case fails twice, you are considered to be not ready for the ITI Diploma and will need to improve your skills and experience and then register again for the program after a suitable period of time.
You can either re-submit the failed case together with the additional information requested and your other 3 cases, or submit a new case together with your other 3 cases. If the topic of the failed case was a single tooth replacement in the esthetic zone, the topic of the new submitted case must also be a single tooth replacement in the esthetic zone. The new case must be submitted within 4 weeks of receipt of fail notification. A failed case can only be re-submitted once.

A failed case can be resubmitted only once. If the resubmitted case is failed again, you are considered to be not ready for the ITI Diploma and will need to improve your skills and experience and then register again for the program after a suitable period of time.

The registration fee will not be reimbursed.
